Groundwater or surface water

HWSA's primary water supply is groundwater, therefore, the Authority strongly encourages voluntary conservation at all times.  With the arrival of warm weather, the demand for water rises significantly.  During periods of high demand or drought conditions, water well yields decline rapidly.  When this occurs, HWSA must obtain water from neighboring suppliers in order to meet demand.  Purchased water costs significantly more to provide than well water which in turn, impacts rates.

Conserving water is always a wise practice because it saves money, energy, and the environment.
