Storm water should not be discharged into the sanitary sewer system.  Sump pumps should discharge the storm water onto your property.  Storm water directed into the sanitary sewer overloads the system, wastes valuable capacity, and costs HWSA, and ultimately the user, for pumping and treatment of unpolluted water.  HWSA and Township ordinances prohibit this type of discharge.
